User H Drive - % of files 'Access is Denied'

    Hello all,

A user is getting 'Access is Denied' for a large percentage of his Home drive files. The user have full control of the drive, and is also the owner. He is able to open some files fine, but others not.

As a domain admin I am able to open all the files.

Any idea why this is happening and how to resolve?

I've tested on multiple laptops and desktops, all are the same except one desktop which allowed him access to the files!?

    Thanks,

I was going to suggest checking Share permissions too but you say he can work on some files fine.

I would suggest stripping out his permissions and resetting them. Just disable any kind of inheritance, remove whats currently there and then rebuild. Just pass down the new permissions to all sub-folders

Sounds like the permissons have been mest up, you may have to go through and redo all the permissons again just as @themightymrp has suggested

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I have deleted his Home drive and recreated using AD attribute %username%. This automatically assigns the users permissions and works fine for others.

Also, every new file the user creates and saves in his home drive, he cannot open directly after closing it!

What does an Effective Permissions query say about the files? It really does sound like a permissions issue. Check Creator Owner maybe?

Effective permissions are all checked for the user.

Only account with permissions over the users Home folder are the server local administrator (full control) and the user himself (full control).

The user is also owner of the home folder.
