Stop Users seeing free space (Drive details)

    Morning all,

Hopefully there's a quick solution to this but I'm short on time so am hoping someone can point me in the correct direction.

Is there a GPO setting I can set so that users can't see drive info (eg free space) of any drives they have mapped?

    Thanks

Not the answer you were looking for but we use Quotas here. The disk space bar shows them their quota, not the total disk space available.

You can modify what's displayed in Explorer reasonably easily by tweaking the TileInfo and PreviewDetails keys at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive:

    TileInfo
    Code:
    prop:*System.PercentFull;System.Computer.DecoratedFreeSpace;System.Volume.FileSystem
    PreviewDetails
    Code:
    prop:*System.PercentFull;System.FreeSpace;System.Capacity;System.Volume.FileSystem;*System.Volume.BitLockerProtection
We (for example) remove the Sytem.PercentFull part (leave the beginning *, you need it) so it doesn't make the bar go red on multi-terabyte volumes when it hits the 10% free mark.

However, it's all or nothing (local and network). So Bob is probably going to keep phoning you regarding his inability to add stuff to his already full usb drive.
