    Mandatory Profile - Odd Behavior

    Afternoon all,

Got an issue which has got us scratching our heads here...

New computer out of the box, formatted HD and installed Windows 7 Pro. Joined the machine to the domain after installing all updates. Logged in with our test student account and the desktop isn't applying correctly. Tested the account on another machine and working perfectly. The main issue at the minute is that the background colour is set as black rather than the blue that we set in the mandatory profile.

    Any ideas?

Any redirection going on for things like that? Event viewer would be first place to check and will flag up any errors on redirection. Otherwise run the gpresults wizard from group policy (or use gpresult on command line, I prefer the former though as it's more verbose) to see what GP's are applying (or not) which may or may not include desktop settings that would override a mandatory profile.

Is the computer in the correct OU in active directory? Also is your mandatory profile created for 32bit/64bit or both?
