Exclamation Exclude directories in roaming profile - not working

    Good Afternoon everyone,

We are in the process of trying to exclude the following paths from the roaming profile to try and reduce network traffic:

    AppData\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestination s
    AppData\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinat ions
    AppData\Microsoft\Templates\LiveContent\Managed
    AppData\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies
    AppData\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries
    AppData\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

We setup the 'Exclude directories in roaming profile' policy but we cannot get this to work, it is being applied but the folders we ask to be excluded are still being included.

Has anybody else had experiences with this policy?

    Cheers

    Scott

    Is your AppData folder redirected?

If so, you need to add in the directory the way it is actually named and stored in whichever location it is being redirected to.

    I have the following excluded:

    NetHood;PrintHood;Templates;Temp;Application Data\Hodder Education\SNAP3Demo;Application Data\Microsoft\Access

Yes our AppData folder is redirected, I have tried excluding just the Cookies folder to see if it applies so entered AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies in to the policy but no matter where I put the policy (applying to a user or a computer) it doesn't apply.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

Firstly, are you excluding the directories in User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon/Logoff ?

If excluding the directory isn't helping, another alternative you could try is going into: User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer and turning on the "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed."
