YouTube, IE and a Black Screen

I've spent most of my day searching for a resolution but with no luck.

    Heres my problem.

When I launch you tube and look at this video (for instance):
    Operation Good Guys - S1 Ep1 - The Informant - BBC - YouTube

(It happens with most youtube clips on our machines)

I get the youtube ad, then it goes to a black screen, then it goes to a fuzzy black screen and a message saying "an error has occured, please try again later".

It works on a server we use for remote desktop, it works on my machine and thats about it. All teacher machines get this message.
Flash is uptodate. IE10, cleared my history and cookies but its still there!

Has anyone else come about this or even better found a solution?

    Thanks.

    Steve

Have you tried turning off gpu video acceleration in flash, they never really got that right and it can crash the display driver.

Sounds like a proxy/filter issue. Is the server using the same proxy with the same policies.

Thanks for the replies, this still does not resolve the issue. It seems its with all machines I have done on a certain ghost. The ghost has been used in the past and just got updated this summer. The hardware acceleration I was hopeful with and tried it late last night in anticipation but to no avail. I don't think it is a proxy thing, a user on a good and bad machine has the issue only on the machine. I can run it like I said on the rds which does have different rules, and my office desktop which has no special rules. Could it be codecs or something do you think?

You could try fiddler on a bad machine check if any urls are blocked. Run it on a good machine and compare the logs. You could try ms network monitor or wireshark. If your machine and the rds server work, do a report on the proxy server for a bad machine. Im assuming you have access. This would rule out the proxy issue. Adobe do a flash un installer you could run then install the latest flash.

I do have access to the proxy, its strange because on Machine A, anyone can access it, Machine B no one can access it. Both machines are on Allow All in proxy right now for testing. My gut feeling is its software. I will try wireshark in a bit and report back.

Did you find an answer to this? I'm having the same issue on random stations. Info so far:
    All Win 7
Identical hardware in 2 different machines but it will work on one and not the other
Flash isn't part of the image, it's installed after
    Tried updating Flash
    Tried Removing flash and reinstalling
Tried upgrading to IE9 and 10
    Definitely no filtering
rebuild usually doesn't fix it but does sometimes
RDP into affected PC and it WORKS, but log in locally it doesn't (I think this is important, rules out many things)
doesn't work under local administrator user
all PCs running latest graphics driver (Intel G41 Express on board graphics)
    Works in Chrome

Teachers are complaining about it quite loudly now and I'm nowhere with it

OK, plugged some headphones in as I did have a red cross, no help. Disabled hardware aceleration, no help. What Filtering are you using out of interest? We use lightspeed and I called them last night to check on progress, they siad they had another call but couldnt find the details, not sure if its related so watching this space.

Interesting, we are using Lightspeed too. Haven't fully checked whether having something plugged in fixes it. If it doesn't I'll contact Lightspeed too.

I am with lightspeed as well, no issues with this here. All I can suggest is make sure s.ytimg.com is let through for your policies. As we had some problems with this on our WebZones latley, the usual youtube.com and ytmg.com was not enough.
