I am moving the clients to the new domain having moved to a new server. Most of the pcs in the suite move without a problem, but there are 5 or so that are giving me an access denied error when I try to move them to the new domain. When I do it, the entries appear in the AD on the server but seem to be getting blocked on the client itself. I say this because if I try to change it to a workgroup, the access is denied message also comes up.
I am logged in locally, as the local admin on the pcs, so I can't see where this error is coming from. It is odd that it happens on some computers but not others. I am moving from CC4 to Vanilla, dunno if that is affecting it somehow. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated!
Try creating the accounts in AD prior to adding the PC's onto the domain (so when you move them to the new one, it will overwrite the dummy accounts)?
