    Redirected desktop and x64 Apps

We use folder redirection to provide staff and students Desktop and Start Menu icons. One problem that is becoming noticeable is that x64 applications can have different pathnames (i.e Program Files (x96) instead of Program Files)

Has anyone come up with a way of only displaying icons if the PC is x64 or x86? I can't think of an easy was to do this with folder redirection apart from having two icons

I'd have two sets of start menu/desktops...one for x86 and one for x64. I already have different sets for laptops and workstations and RDS. I think in my blogs is some scripting I used to manage it...

    Yep we do the same.

We have 2 group policies. 2 GPO to point to a x86 redirected folder. another for x64. Then we use WMI filters so it will only apply the correct policy based on the computers OS.

Got the same problem here except at the moment its only affecting office icons, did post about reinstalling office to the normal program files folder but no replies and have not had chance yet to see if it works ok that way. Its not a major problem if it does work as we only have 5 64bit pcs. We do have redirected menus and desktops which are set up depending who is logged on and not which pc it is, hence issue with 64/32.

Just trying to do this. Would anyone care to share their WMI filter please? I thought I'd got it right but it doesn't seem to work.

    TIA
