Open the policy and navigate to: User Config > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry

Copy the following screenshots, but just change the proxy name and exceptions as required

    Attachment 19039
    Attachment 19042
    Attachment 19045

Now link the GPO and it should add proxy settings in for IE10
@Michael what would you change if you use a .pac file please? When you say the one above im just not sure what you mean

    Thanks

You'd specify the proxy.pac as illustrated in my picture:

    ProxyPac.png

If you enter the information into LAN Settings, you should then be able to search and copy it from the registry and deploy using GPP.

This is what you're looking for:

    Code:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    Code:
    AutoConfigURL
    REG_SZ
    http://proxy.pac/ (for example)
    Hope this helps!

I forgot to mention, when you specify a proxy.pac file you don't need to enable proxy settings, specify the proxy name or its exceptions as of course the pac file contains everything required. Only the above regedit via GPP is needed (as I described above).

Sorry to divert the focus of the thread a little, but has anyone else had any issues changing the Homepage using IE10 GPP?

I've had to resort to using GPP to edit the registry... bit odd I think!

Apologies, I didn't mean to come across patronising - but I hope the regedit I posted helps

Is this when you're using Windows 8 RSAT or Server 2012?

Haven't checked it on a Win8 client yet... no joy with Win7.

Should putting proxy settings into IE10 on gpp in win 2012 just work on a users ou?

Having problems getting it to apply over the old proxy settings that are in there

Heh, had this exact same issue - went with the registry key 'workaround' on a user based GPO afterwards, whilst not ideal - works a treat!

    Thank you for this!

Make sure your GPP is set to 'Replace' and it should overwrite existing proxy settings. By default proxy settings are deployed per user, not per computer.
