Chrome message: Your profile could not be opened correctly... Mandatory Profiles

    Whiskey

    Foxtrot
    ?

Your profile could not be opened correctly in Google Chrome

Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents.
Just seen this out in the wild on my network today. Using mandatory profiles here for kids. Chrome does seem to work alright after clicking ok on this, but what is it? Anyone else seen it?

Been using Chrome here since September and all's been (mostly) well up to now. Staff are fine (have their own profiles) but I'd love to know what's gone on...

    Anyone know this feel?

I've seen a similar message to this...might be the same...i cant remember what it says.

As chrome still works, it hasn't been on the top of the list for something to fix. would be interested to find out what this is though.

Just confirmed that the message i get is the same as you

Interesting - we've had Chrome on our system since installation in August with no problems. This message has noticeably started appearing in the last couple of weeks only. Wondered if an update or something has caused it. Again, mandatory profiles.

Interestingly the most common fix is deleting the "web data" file from the local profile in appdata however being a mandatory profile that doesn't exist and never has done - it only exists on creation. Which would seem like permissions however it used to work and the profile, nor permissions to it, have not changed.

I am also seeing this message. My user with a mandatory profile [hasn't been reported by other staff as yet: I guess because Chrome still works]

    Version: 24.0.1312.57 (Official Build 178923)

I think it is because there is old data in the mandatory profile. Install the new chrome, then copy the appdata from the new version to the mandatory profile.

There is *no* data in the mandatory profile. It's created on the fly. Unless there's a location I'm not aware of! (Could very well be possible, it's nearly hometime on a Friday!)

OK, we were seeing this error and one of our techs thought that was the issue, I didn't really follow it up - hence my vague comment.

Yep, seeing the same issue here, only on mandatory profiles. The data that is advised to be delete doesn't exist - either in the mandatory profile or in the Default User profile.

So, I'm at a loss too.

Yes I also Googled, then went "It's not MEANT to!"

Oh well, guess we're sitting on a fix, and it still does work yes.

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm not alone!
