Wordpress Problems

Has anyone been suffering problems with the new wordpress image uploader + IE7 combination. I've tried numerous 'Fixes' none of which seem to work! Any ideas.

P.S If you have never used WordPress DO IT TODAY

WP 2.5 uses an ajax file upload i think, and ajax is the death of the internet!

also use WP if you want to use all your webservers memory, it sucks!

WP isn't so bad! It's an open system that necessitates the amount of database calls (Drupal does it 10x as much) - just install the cache plugin and it's fine. Never run it on a windows server - that's just nuts & asking for problems.

I question that should be put to the dev's is why isnt the wp-cache plugin core?

I wouldnt want to run WP on any webserver of mine, have new vulnerbilities all the time.

I mean if you take a look at the way cookies where generated pre WP 2.5,

they are calculated like this, md5(md5($userpw_hash)), and what that means is, any hacker armed with a WP SQL injection (be it in core source or in a plugin of some sort) can generate a valid cookie for that user and simply refresh the page and bang, you are admin.

Im not sure wether WP 2.5 still uses this but i remember reading recently that there are cookie bugs on user signout that can allow elavated privilages. That was possibly fixed in 2.5.1 though. Also you can add to it the source bloating, from 2.3.3 a whole meg of source has been added, you may what AJAX upload boxes, but id rather have efficent secure code as my foundations.

DOH! It seems that the glitch has been fixed in V2.5.1 after all. Say what you like about WordPress our Staff & Students LOVE IT! and at the end of the day they are the end users. Processor strain is the grids problem!!!! tee hee
