    Joomla Template Expert Needed

Anyone good at converting Joomla 1.0x templates into 1.5 templates. As while can run it under legacy mode I would prefer not to.

If anyone has any advice or wishes to have got at I would be very grateful and would owe you a drink...

Template can be found at http://www.russdev.com/files/jt_simplicity_blue.zip

    Re: Joomla Template Expert Needed

...From Google but might be worth a try...

"Here is a little hack to make Joomla 1.0 template to work on Joomla 1.5. All you need to do to convert a Joomla 1.0 template to Joomla 1.5 is to change the templateDetails.xml file.

    Joomla 1.0 templateDetails.xml:

    Joomla 1.5 templateDetails.xml:

This will install the Joomla 1.0 template and it will work as if it was in Joomla 1.0."

Are you just using 1.5 for testing? It's not recommended for anything but this yet is it?

    Re: Joomla Template Expert Needed

    Yes and no

New site working on so like true geek I am read advice and promptly ignored it as needed a production site i could test version 1.5 out on.

Version 1.5 is stable enough to use on this site mainly as nothing special about it lots of static content and pretty much no 3rd party plugins. Also by time version 1.5 comes out of beta this site might get finished then just do backup and reinstall stable version and import old content.

Where as an alternative site installed old version as lots of 3rd party stuff and changing content etc..
