Hi,
I don't believe this has been mentioned on here as of yet, but i thought i'd just point out the new "Microsoft Web Matrix" which has gone live.
Microsoft Web Matrix Info / Download
I downloaded it earlier, although not had that much time to play with it today due to me being busy but it does seem rather interesting.
Not sure what involvement it has with Content Management Systems as they seem to be listed at the bottom (Joomla, Drupal etc.) from what they said on the opening statement it appears you might be able to start of with a simple content management system and then build upon that using the new tools! (not sure what extent they go to mind)
WebMatrix is a brand new web development tool from Microsoft that includes everything you need for website development. Start from open source web applications, built-in web templates or just start writing code yourself. It’s all-inclusive, simple and best of all free. Developing websites has never been easier.
Anyhow, might come in handy for someone wanting to have a bash at doing some web stuff!
Oh! and best of all it's FREE
James.

3rd February 2011, 07:04 PM #2 This is a fantastic concept and hope they work out some of the kinks. Not only great for district admins, but it could also be a great tool to teach students about php, mysql and web dev stuff in a simple and cheap way.
I did play with this last week and found it very promising!
