embed exe in a web page

    Hi,

I've got a CD full of resources, with a navigation program to help get to the appropriate file. The navigation is an EXE program, looks like a wrapper for a flash program. On the CD, there is only the EXE and resources, no flash files or swf things.

I want to make this all available on our website. Is there a way to allow users to run the executable file on a webpage, which will then make the resources easily navigable and downloadable?

I dont think so, and even if you could there should be several things stopping any .exe from running (any filter you have on your network, the browser etc).
I'm assuming you only want this for your network. If this is the case, you could write a batch file for them to run first (instead of the .exe) that maps a drive to a shared folder to all your domain users, then the batch file runs that .exe from the mapped location.

If you're wanting to do this to the open web, you may have some troubles without them downloading the whole folder and running it locally.

    Good luck!

First of all you need to check that none of the resources are protected by copyright law before you go posting them on the school's website.

Is there anything particularly fantastic about this navigation menu? Couldn't you just create your own on the website?

THanks for your answers. It's only that the number of resources the navigation system shows is loads- too many to create my own navigation, and the resources have funny names too. Perhaps it just won't work Thanks anyway.
