how to load images on page scroll
As some of you know my brother was murdered 19 year ago. Currently we are compaigning to increase my brothers murderers jail sentence and to have him put on the registered sex offenders list.
We started a facebook group alittle while back and its generated almost 3000 members, which has been a great success as some people have come forward claiming they were also a victim of sexual asault by the same man.
On top of this the media are showing great intrest and are waiting for the familly to prepare a statement etc.
One of the issues we have is some people are trying to have the facebook group shutdown, so we have created a website in order to keep it going as a backup.
this brings me on to my question.
one of the pages has a number of images e.g. a mixture of news paper articles and images. I believe I have done my best to reduce the file sizes but they seem to still load a little slow.
So what I would like to do is have the images load as the user scrolls down the page.
here is a link Paul Pearson - Justice For Paul
The website is not complete yet and I have more ideas in the pipeline for it.
comments or suggestions are greatfully appreciated.

Would it be worth using a gallery script to show thumbnails with a decent description so people could click to get larger images?

Yes I did think of this but my main concern is I wanted the site to be as easy and user friendly as possible, I've seen some people strugle with this in the past.
I did how ever see a website that did this but it was a plugin on a cms site
