    BBC Sport Pages

At the top of the BBC Sports home page : BBC SPORT there is a button that says 'Explore the BBC' - clicking on this opens a layer with some links in it.

Has anyone used this sort of script before and can advise?

    Many thanks

It can be done with simple jquery. Its just a div thats positioned and then onclick it shows the div and hides it on click again.

Or you could even use the 'actual' code and have a play with the Glow libraries - BBC - Glow JavaScript Library

My first self correction should be to say JavaScript library I guess.

Glow is the BBC's set of functions and widgets they use to build interactive sites using JavaScript. It's a more modern successor to their earlier (and not released) JSTools libraries. It's akin to things like the Prototype or JQuery JavaScript libraries. Glow works primarily with a concept they have called NodeLists, which are sections of the JavaScript Document Object Model, or DOM. All JavaScript libraries are fundamentally about abstracting away common tasks and making complex cross browser code easy to create.

In the case of the BBC Sports page, the information box in question is created using the infopanel widget as described here: BBC - Glow Documentation - InfoPanel Widget

    Does that vaguely explain?
