Looks like the SMTP server can't talk to the SMTP server responsible for the newtown-hs.powys.sch.uk domain (appears to be mailgate.ruralwales.net) .

I am in charge, and it was a problem with the SMTP server on my other domain which we use from here, as Fasthosts don't provide us with one. I've have disabled this and we are now running the PHP mailer built into Dragonfly.

the pm stuff uses one of two methords either sending stuff via smtp or by sending using all internal mailer fucntions written bysoftware that runs on the site.
