Wordpress is more of a blog system rather than a CMS system for creating a full site.
We used Website Baker to create ours, all done in-house. Bradford Academy - Home
We are putting out quotes to companies to update our website to fit with our new college image. The one we currently have is updated using Macromedia software and has been horrible unstable as an update system. Taking this into mind i suggested using something like Joomla which will give us much easier updating of the site.
One company has then said they prefer to use wordpress as it's easier for the end user and one has just come up with using Livewriter as it's "more user friendly" than wordpress or joomla.
I guess my question is which one would you guys head towards out of those options?
Webman and Bossman alsi use web baker.
Myself i like joomla
Well wordpress is certainly a easy system for the less knowledge people and can be used very well for a cms but personally i've used website baker.
also if you google a site called opensourcecms you can demo alot of different packages.
I use Drupal for my school's site (www.silcoates.org.uk). Bit of a learning curve but very very powerful and extendable with modules too.
A theme development application called Artisteer is very good too and lets you export themes to Drupal, Joomla and Wordpress.
Wordpress is for blogging really.
I would use Joomla if you want something that is easy to update.
