Can anybody recommend a decent (free) CMS that can handle content in multiple languages, ideally where each page in English has a counterpart page in each of the languages you are using? (I'm not looking for automated translations, just a structure into which translated versions can be placed.)
I've looked at Joomla and the various plug-ins it has for handling languages, but I have reservations about security because of the way it needs so much of the directory to be chmod 775. I plan to install onto a shared/virtual host (as yet to be identified) so leaving the permissions so wide open concerns me.
I've also looked at TribiqCMS which seems very capable (once you get GD working properly) but far too complicated for the people who are going to manage the content.
Thanks for any suggestions
