Joomla - School Template & Extensions

    Hi,

I am starting to build our new school web site using Joomla. I am unable to access the School pack which is mention in the Sticky post.

Do I basically install and then using other modules to bolt onto the inteface?

    Many Thanks

Any recommended templates & extensions ?

don't download that pack linked in the pdf. On the forum here, go to the edugeek joomla 1.5 section and download that from that sticky. It will give you some nice extentions and templates.

First once you've got the package, experement alot with it play with the template and css so you get a layout you like, play with the extentions and mess with the content..... OR you can read the manual but that isn't as fun.

Then what i did is using ideas from the sticky in this forum and some of my own ideas,

    - bulletpointed all the ideas

    - Went to Joomla!, then to the extentions section, and found an extention that did one thing of what I wanted, so i had them all ticked off

    - Once you've done that you should have a idea of wether you can come out of legacy mode or not (its on by default i think), all your extentions will need to be compatable with either 1.5 native, or 1.5 legacy.

    - Install them and experiment make sure to check out the documentation for each extention you use.

Add content too each one and you should be pretty much done.

P.S Don't expect it to be quick im on my third week and just half way through my list, but I'm only spending a few hours every now and then on it.
