Okay, so this is nothing to do with my job, but my own personal website got hacked yesterday. He enclosed an e-mail address and the page also downloaded stuff from what was presumably the hackers own website. The website appears to be an islamic fan/extremist site. His e-mail address is a hotmail one. Anyway, I have a contact in Microsoft who I spoke to about it, he looked at his e-mail and we found his myspace username and password before we closed down his account.
I'm not going to quote any of the text stated on the page just in case the 'script-kiddy' uses a search engine to find this forum. I'll show you am image of the page though... he also did the same thing to another one of our sites on the same server. I did a google search and found about 50 other sites had been hacked by the same person. I think he is using exploits in the file permissions.

Re: Website hacked...
*gets rather nervous about the 777 permissions she's had to use to get some parts of her own website working*
I hope you had a backup... that's got me really paranoid now... I feel sorry for you...

Lol, one of the two websites it contacts when you load the defaced page is a so called 'IT news' website which is in reality a place for hackers to brag about which websites they have defaced. They can register an account and there is a place for them to list their defaced sites. Anyway, the person that defaced my website has done the same thing to about 2,000 others (most had music on, mine didn't, I feel left out) and on each one he had left his e-mail address. Now that e-mail address has been locked thanks to friend who works for the hotmail backend. He said he found his myspace account details, but obvious cannot disclose them due to confidentiality reasons. I want this guys name and the IP address he used to log into hotmail with... I wish he could give it to me.

It's only a matter of time though...there've been "threats" before lol.

I had that happening to my old site it was because of a gallery and someone was uploading a executable and able to execute code. Gits! was annoying because it was always happening.

I'm sorry I have absolutely no respect for these idiots...
They have no skill, no experience, they simply use someone elses work and tools to look for something the tool knows it can abuse and then they put up crappy artwork that isn't theirs, and claim their l337 hax07 skills when they're a bunch of low grade moronic pr*cks who can't even spell correctly.
If they really want to prove their worth they should take on the job of keeping morons out... We have to be right all the time, they have to catch us getting it wrong just once..
Grrr...
