You don't its classic ASP only. This means it will only work with IIS as far as I know.

But you can install IIS on any PC, its included with XP/Windows 7. Just install it in the windows control panel on any PC.

There is no need to roll it out on any servers if your just testing.

    Hi Chaps,

This may be a stupid question and it's late but can I setup an admin password? Also how do I setup the email on closing as at the moment it's not happening...

    Server 2003

    Cheers

The latest version has no passwords. I personally just show the view screen in a sharepoint window.

I'll add the option to hide the admin/login screens in the next version.

Email function is still missing due to me not having an SMTP server to test with properly.

You might want to wait until I release the new version, its got asset tracking and loads of new statistics. I'll see if I can get it uploaded.

Have you got it running on windows 7 successfully?

It takes a couple of mins to install IIS and ASP on any desktop which is how I run it.

I have a new version nearly ready for release but it still has a few hardcoded things to fix first. It has extended asset tracking now and includes servers and mac addresses.

I have not tried on windows 7, but will do. My main problem was connection do access db through IIS, I think this is caused by 64bit OS and MS Jet driver. Will try windows 7 and see it will go. Thanks for reply

Ahh yes that will probably be a problem. I would advise 32 bit.

Its an access database which i deliberately chose so there was no setup needed with IIS, but hadnt thought about 64bit.

EDIT: I just noticed all the style sheets are messed up if your using Internet Explorer. I use firefox and its fine though so need some time to look whats wrong.

great bit of work there, been playing with it, its very nice, is there a way to log off from the current admin account, you know when you click admin and it lets you choose your account...

Also i've not played much with iis, i can access the pages from the machine its hosted on but not others on the network...any thoughts? also through the school guardian filter it got detected as porn lol, i mean its good but i wouldnt say its quite pornographic!!

    Good work man!
    Thanks

Cheers mate glad its of some use. The current version is very outdated. I'll try to find some time this week to put my current code up with your feature requests.

It should work on any machine in your network. Its just a website so might need to change something in IIS to get that working.

we used to use liberum which is free and ticks the 'simple box'. That has some form of ntlm authentication~that was very helpful. It's written in asp and easy enough to customise. You could prob get some ideas off that. Looking at your screen shots I don't see 'progress' as being a useful column nor action. Although you could make action as date of last action or none. Priority would be more use than progress and then default sort the table by priority high, medium low. Or don't have a priority column but colour the backgrounds of the rows according to a priority field. You may want a field for the the type of job. it's helpful to be able to categorise jobs and then have some analysis pages that show job type breakdown. Some organisations with more ict personnel may wish to allocation jobs to specific staff. That would be a handy column with names hyperlinked to a page showing the jobs allocated to that person. In that situation I'd have a row above the table on the default page showing the names of the staff and how many jobs allocated to each.
if your main page was IT support jobs (open) you could loose the status column too.
