9th November 2008, 08:02 PM #3 Do you run this 'on the side' or is it something you do full time?

9th November 2008, 09:21 PM #4 It's something i do 'on the side' but support tickets are answered within around 10 mins, when im not at work as an IT Technician, i do Website Hosting for the rest
Bit more background:
I Started in late 2007 providing web hosting to just a few people i knew, on a reseller account. 3 months ago i got my own Dell R200 Server and got it in a Datacentre (Telehouse Metro) in london.
It is something i'm looking to do full time once i get enough custom.
If you want to know anything else... fire away

9th November 2008, 10:59 PM #5 Id just like to add that Craig has done a great job for me, over the last 3 months he has been hosting the EduMoodle Theme for me completly free of charge.
Craig has actually occasionally dropped me an email to see if everything is ok, added databases when i've been looking a bit short and even reset the bandwidth limits for me.
In 3 months the EduMoodle Theme has been downloaded 2250 times and the site has been visited by over 5000 users from around the world.
Its a great offer but knowing the kind of high quality service Craig offers its an amazing deal, especially as this is done "on the side".
Thanks

10th November 2008, 12:31 AM #7 In the next few weeks i will be looking to take out a few hosting plans, basically a company i do some work for on the side, designs websites for other companies (Sites that run cubecart, E-cart and the like) so when i take over this buissness i would require a stable host, that dont cost much. so will be in touch soon.
James.

10th November 2008, 12:48 AM #8 Yeah, no worries.
If your looking to host a few and want to keep them together maybe a reseller plan would be the best route to go? i could of course sort you a deal on this.
Just drop me a PM or use our contact for on our website VeloxServ
Cheers

So you got any rules?

10th November 2008, 08:05 PM #11 When checking out you must agree to have read our terms and conditions, you can host almost anything on there as long as it doesnt eat our CPU and RAM.
Malicious PHP Scripts etc aren't allowed... Just take a read of our terms and conditions and that should answer all of your questions, if anyone needs to know anything else let me know.
Regards...

22nd November 2008, 11:45 AM #14 Just a little reminder, you need a postal address & contact telephone number on your site as per the distance selling regulations - it's a legal requirement.

What happens if your server goes down while you are at work in your IT Tech role? Or 3am on a Sunday morning?
Good luck,

Good luck,
You may wish to update your WHOIS too as prospective clients may think you're a here today, gone tomorrow host with the information you've put. You can probably hide WHOIS information anyway.
