    Ruby on Rails

    Hi

Has anybody used ruby on rails before? I am having trouble with my installation, in that I cant get my bundle to install. I think it may be because I am behind a proxy as I have tried everything that I can think of to fix it.

I have followed this guide Getting Started with Rails ? Ruby on Rails Guides to set up my ruby rails for the first time, I get the following error message:

    C:\Sites\blog>rails server
Could not find gem 'rails (= 4.0.0) x86-mingw32' in the gems available on this machine.
Run `bundle install` to install missing gems.

    C:\Sites\blog>bundle install
    Fetching source index from https://rubygems.org/
Could not fetch specs from https://rubygems.org/

When searching my directory I can find this mingw32 gem in the railsinstaller folder, is there a way that I can manually put it where it is supposed to be (where is it supposed to be?)

Is it because I am behined a proxy... or have I missed something?

    Thanks for any help!

Download the gems manually and install them with 'gem install', specifying the path. I never had any luck trying to get it working behind a proxy.

Have you set HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY environment variable?

If you've got a mac I really wouldn't bother trying to set it up on Windows, it's a total pain. Sounds like you've got it up and running though, happy developing!
