As a host justhost.com is cheap for up to the first 4 years with unlimited space, databases, bandwidth, cpanel, auto setup of Wordpress etc...

I can't caution people away from Justhost fast enough. Nothing but grief.

I've got 7 sites on justhost, never had an issue with them. It's like with any company, they all will have disgruntled customers, they can't please everyone.

Vids are good also as well as daily. My personal gripe with one company is 123reg, awful everything.

What about 1 and 1? I've already been messing around with a Virtual Server using their services which seems very quick so a webhost would be good too surely?
Also that Reviews plugin looks great, except from the fact anyone can leave a plugin. I'd be looking to have people sign up etc and all of the reviews will need to be public not written by myself.

Vidahost everytime for me you can get support anytime from them which is a bonus. Never had a problem with them.
Have heard stories about 1 and 1 which would mean i wouldnt touch them with a barge poll

Been with 1 & 1 personally with court threats etc. Tried telling me I was still paying for a product which I cancelled a month after purchasing... this was 4 years later...

I also hated their service and customer support.

Try leaving 1&1, they get very unhelpful.

Try what I did, Tell them you're leaving via ticket. Say you're cancelling the payment and actually cancel it... legally you've told them and you've cancelled and they will send you threats...Ignore them...

    That's what I did

I have left. I got Vidahost to move everything across, for free. A friend tried to leave and release his domain name recently, they lied to him, saying they had changed the IPTag. They clearly hadn't.

Personally I'd use drupal as a base for this kind of project. Wordpress is really designed for blogs whereas drupal is a front end for a database. It takes a bit of getting used to the structure and ways of working and theming can be a bit arduous but it has a lot of your requirements out of the box or from contributed modules.

Out of the box you already have:
A user database with basic user profile.
Comments module can easily be used for reviews.
Creation of a custom content type with the database fields for whatever it is you're wanting the users to review.

    From contributed modules

Views will let you present aggregated feeds of content. https://drupal.org/project/views
Rate lets users rate the content https://drupal.org/project/rate
And loads of social networking modules https://drupal.org/node/206724

As for hosting, I absolutely love digital ocean. It's VPS hosting so you get complete control and at a very affordable price. Setting up apache/mysql really isn't that hard.

I think you're a bit out of term with Wordpress :P Since all the updates it's not really a blogging format. Blogs are great for SEO but Wordpress has way more flexibility than Drupal
