    Re: Site Live-ish

    Righty oh.

    We manage the server its in our school so we have total control of the hosting. The LEA have put in a rule on their ISA server that translates all web traffic trying to access our site and forwards it to our server.

    The server has both Joomla (website) and Moodle installed and they both work together fine. So the only hard work we had to do was register an external IP to our server and then get the LEA to put a hole in the firewall and divert traffic to the site.

    The teachers update their own content as and when they want to. I'm doing some training on it in a few weeks so more content should follow. Every teacher gets a username and password and a simple "Word" like editor to use so its easy.

    Hard things like podcasting and other tricky bits are left up to me and the ICT staff who have admin accounts to access the backend of the system.

    Re: Site Live-ish

    Nearly there now. The modules work fine in user positions 5, 3 and so on, but i want it in user module 6.

    http://moodle1:3636/index.php?tp=1

    When i put it to module user6 it doesnt display, all others are fine?

    Any ideas???

    The CSS for user 6 i have is:

    #user6{
    width: 660px;
    float: left;
    text-align: left;
    }

    Re: Site Live-ish

    No,

    I used to have the Urgent news, but its not published now.

    I could ammend the top CSS to trick it into position but the User6 would be the ideal, just below the header graphic but above the content.

    You will find that if you publish your newsflash module to the top position it will appear. Don't ask why..

    Re: Site Live-ish

    Certainly does! I'll make the slideshow a bit wider in the CSS user6 then it should drop the newsflash (top) below the slideshow... What a good end to a week!

    Re: Site Live-ish

    Me again,

    Nearly there now with the slideshow thingy. I've put it in now and it looks OK but the content has dropped a bit. Does anyone know how to sort this one out? And for some reason it only seems to be working on the home page and not on any other page? A weird one, all my other modules /components work spot on excepth this one. Once i've got it working that's it with the tecchie bits.

    Hiya ben. Out of intrest are you using the most recent version of the package? There was an issue with an earlier version that casue you issue, also try reducing the width of the flash banner from within the smoothgallery component settings.

    As for why it only shows on the front page, the template has to have something published in both user6 and top for either to be displayed.

    Re: Site Live-ish

    No i'm not using the most recent version i'm using the version from May last year? I'm scared if i upgrade to the newest version it might cause some of my work to go missing ?!? I could add the recent updated items to the top on all the modules if needed but i didnt really want to go down that route.

    Cheers, Ben

    Here is the updated css file for the red template. Try replacing yours with this (backup your one first) and see what happens.
