Looks like it's choking due to integrated auth being turned off in the browser, enable it manually on one to test then use gpo or gpp to push the preference globally.

Until recently I couldn't get IE10 to type a carriage return into this box without having to select "switch editor to source mode" but that seems to have been fixed now...

IE10 has been a real pain I guess it will be months before its debugged properly.

To be fair that is down to vbulitins poor excuse for an editor that is unstable and unpredictable under ever browser I have tried, chrome, ie, Firefox even opera.

In an odd turn of events it works if I turn integrated auth OFF?!

It prompts me for my credentials and when I type them the page then loads.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

Add it to the local intranet sites zone then switch it back on perhaps, probably a security levels thing.

There is an option in security zone settings at the end that only allows credential pass through in the local intranet zone, you could mess with this for all zones but centrally adding to the intranet zone is better and easier

Nope exactly the same issue again.

Its going to be something really small and annoying I can tell!

What server is the intranet site running on? If it is a windows server I would recommend running all windows updates.

2008 R2 uses IIS7.5 not 6, unless you're running it in compatibility mode?

I would recommend updating the server. The error is definitely coming from server side and appears to be an issue with the AD API that the intranet site is using to confirm the identity passed by the browser.

IE10 has been released by Microsoft with a new User Agent string that Windows Server .net components dont recognise. I had an issue that was only happening in IE10 and updating the server with windows update rectified the problem. It may do the same for you as it could be related. I would say it is a medium to long shot.
