    Sharepoint Learning Kit (SLK) SCORM Player

    Is there a way of just 'playing' scorm content without assigning everything to users? The reason I ask is because we are getting so much content that's static like ebooks etc, it's not really an assingment more a fix resource and a standard link on a page would be much better for us.

    How do other people handle resources like this?

    Hi Rob,

    You can assign the resource to yourself and it opens up so that you can complete the task. It will open in the standard SLK window.

    Are the files available that you want to use once you extract them out of the zipped folder? If so, upload them to a document library and link from there.

    I have seen that option to assign to yourself but I don’t see the student doing that to run a content package. I have tried running the package directly as its only html with swf files, however is doesn’t work over SSL and they will not support me if I don’t use it as a SCORM package.
    Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

    Version 1.5 has additional functionality to assign to yourself directly from the document library as a one step process. As part of that you could construct a link which does the same thing. The format is

    ~site/_layouts/SharePointLearningKit/Actions.aspx?Action=AssignSelf&ListId={ListId}&Ite mId={ItemId}

    With the list and item ids replaced by those in the document library.

    Assign Column

    What I have done is create an "Assign" column on my Document library.

    I created 4 new columns named listid, itemid, listurl and assign (see attachment)

    listid (Single line of text)
    itemid (Single line of text)
    listurl (Single line of text)
    Assign (Calculated)

    =CONCATENATE("<DIV><a href='",listurl,"_layouts/SharePointLearningKit/Actions.aspx?Action=AssignSelf&ListId=",listid,"&I temId=",itemid,"'><img src='/_layouts/SharePointLearningKit/Images/ActionsIcon.gif' border='0' width='16' height='16' alt='Assign' /></a></DIV>")

    Next add your Document library (web part) to your page.

    Next add the following web part below it, right click save target as HTML Calculated Column

    Finally create a workflow that will populate the list items (see attachment)

    and you should end up with something like this (see attachment)

    Thanks Richard that perfect for what i'm looking for, works a charm!

    Tip for anyone else, click on the SCORM content and select e-learning actions, note the url and insert between ~site/_layouts/SharePointLearningKit/Actions.aspx?Action=AssignSelf&ListId{}&ItemId={}
