Excuse the very basic questions but we are new to this Moodle lark!
When setting up the parents so that they can see their own childs grade books etc:
Is it only possible to do it manually one by one? That'll take a lot of time for every child in the school.
Secondly, we have set up one parent/child relationship but the parent cannot see the child's grade book - is there a setting somewhere we have missed?

Not sure if you've seen this but appears there is some guidance. Unsure about bulk parental configuration though

Last I read, yes parental accounts must be setup manually - I beleive Salamander Moodle package (not free) will do this based on SIMS data...

Hi Witch,
It is possible to automate this from sims.net, it currently has to have a live db link, i am in the process of rewriting to allow for a csv import for parnetal data.
It component creates a parent account based on email address, which is stored in sims.net.
This will allow parents to see what their child(ren) see with the exclusion of the list of enrolled students.
There need to be a careful setting of permissions as once parent is enrolled incorrectly it can cause havoc.
