Moodle LDAP Settings on CC3
Hi,
I'm trying to set up moodle to authenticate against active directory but I'm having trouble finding what settings I should be using.
We use a CC3 network - I've checked the previous posts & googled but no joy!
I've read a bit about ldp.exe - would that be of use?
I'm completely new to LDAP so any help is much appreciated!

16th June 2009, 11:02 AM #2 What settings are you having problems with?
Contexts are: OU=Teaching Staff, OU=XXX,OU=Establishments,DC=YYY,DC=INTERNAL; OU=Non-Teaching Staff, OU=XXX,OU=Establishments,DC=YYY,DC=INTERNAL; OU=System Administrators, OU=XXX,OU=Establishments,DC=YYY,DC=INTERNAL;
Where XXX is the 3 letter code and YYY is your domain. Beyond that I think everything is standard.

Thanks for the quick reply!
My settings currently are:
Host URL: ldap://IP/
Bind User Distinguised Name: cn=moodle,OU=Users,OU=YYY,OU=INTERNAL
and contexts are set as per your reply.
(where IP is the IP address of the root server, YYY is the domain)
I created the user moodle in active directory (behind all the RM stuff) - do I need to set up anything for this user except for the password?
The error I get is:
LDAP-module cannot connect to any servers: Server: 'ldap://IP/' Connection: 'Resource id #51' Bind result: ''
Thanks again!

Host URL: LDAP://IP/
The ldap word should be in upper case.

Just tried capital LDAP but I still get the same error.
Any more ideas?
Thanks again!

16th June 2009, 02:39 PM #6 I only have the Bind user name on it's own. The box is just labelled "Distinguished Name" & I only hve the name no context and that seems to work. I have the username in the same place.

Bind User Distinguised Name: cn=moodle,OU=Users,OU=YYY,OU=INTERNAL
Hi there,
OU=YYY,OU=INTERNAL should be DC not OU in my experience.
From memory I was able to just use OU=Establishments,DC=YYY,DC=INTERNAL with sub context searching enabled.

Well spotted that man.
Yep that works as well, I used what I put just to tighten it up.
