Hi All,
I'm just after a show of hands, would people be interested in paid for support for the SIMS.net Moodle Modules?
I was thinking of offering something like the following:-
yearly/quarterly/monthly charge for support,
pay per ticket
priority upgrades (before released to the community)
Install service (either on-site or remote)
feature requests
I have no idea what the charges would be but mainly wanted to see if there was a need?
Could you explain what sims intergration with moodle actually offers staff and students?
I would be interested if it could achieve certain things that my SMT require by next year!
Thanks
SIMS.net Integration allow administration to offload the responsibility of have to create courses and manage there memberships.
There are additional modules which sit on top of the basic SIMS.net integration.
SIMS.net Timetable:
This allows students and staff to see there timetables. The staff timetable also displays covers lessons.
Parental Login (Soon to be release)
This will allow parental access to moodle, a parent will be able to view
- The courses their child(ren) have without see other students in that course
- activity log.
Parental Email. (Soon to be release)
Staff will be able to send email to parents of students in a course or multiple courses, this email will then wait to be approved, once approved the mail will be sent overnight.
Hope that give you an insight to what these module can do.
If you let me know what you SMT require, i will be able to let you know if the module fulfil them.
If anyone is interested in a commercial option with all API calls approved by Capita (I.e. it will NOT void your end user licence), I recommend you check out:

I'm definitely interested in the potential here...
One other area I would love to see if the ability to email the teachers of a particular student from within moodle (as it isn't possible in SIMS)...
Any chance this could be added?

Definitely interested in the potential as well - if the LA will ever get their act together and allow a trust between my curriculum network and the admin network which has SIMS on it!
