    IE8 Webdav broken in Moodle

We rolled out IE8 (automatically) the other week, now our Moodle instructors are reporting that WebDav does not give the typical 'Explorer' type of file view but the ftp 'list' view. Has anyone else encountered this yet, and if so do you have a workaround?
The previous versions mode (button) does not fix this either

Thats because your getting a directory listing rather then a webdav folder as such.
Not sure of a workaround as I dont think IE8 has the checkbox in the file->open dialogue to force it to open as a folder.

Web Folder integration with IE is dropped in IE8 so you won't be able to do this. The current workaround would be to get the user to add a shortcut in My Network Places but this will require going through the wizard and it may be too much for them . RM Easylink has the same problem and the current word from RM is that this is under investigation.

Sounds like the same problem seen in RM-land - their quick workaround for XP is to use the "Add Network Place Wizard" (using the relevant URL) and play with the files there.

Well how will sharepoint, which is webdav based for files, work?
When you open a doc in a sharepoint view I thought it basically used webdav hooks in IE to load it up but I could be wrong as we are not using sharepoint currently.

The perils of not refreshing after being distracted.. didn't realise it was that fundamental.. that's useful to know.
