WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAPPEN!........
Ok, So the Deputy wants to have a look in the progress of the learning platform.
Was working fine last night, come in this morning and when i browse to http://intranet i get "Service Unavailable"
She wants to see it 2nd Half of P2
Anyone got an idea's, this happend before and i sorted it but i cant think at the moment my minds gone blanc!
Where's the coffee machine

If its running locally try restarting IIS Services on the server it's installed on.
We occasionally get HTTP 500 errors (for no reason that we can find) and only a restart of IIS cures it.

and i have restarted IIS and the server and the sql server .... and still no joy!
the Central Administration works fine though its just the Intranet (port 80) site

I installed the change password webpart, changed the system account password as a test and never changed it back so when the services refreshed over night it could not authenticate as the password was wrong.

I couldn't get that webpart working very well, would love to know if you got it working ok. The only time i could get it working was using a domain admin as the elevated account and i didn't want to have my password saved in the web part in plain text.
