Moodle & LDAP, What a nightmare!
Grr, Have been struggling with our moodle server since about lunchtime today. Its been working for forever, authenticating users from our active directory using LDAP, the only time we've ever had a problem was with a little bit of an AD re-shuffle when some users ended up outside of the context, but hey we fixed that.
Lunchtime (ish) today it stopped authenticating users, i get errors similar to
LDAP-module cannot connect to any servers: Server: 'myserver.myad.local' Connection: 'Resource id #51' Bind result: ''
We've worked through the LDAP settings, goign from 2 servers to one, from individual OU's in the context to the whole domain. I've now got it with the IP address for the LDAP server and a new user account and i still get the same type of error message. no more information.
nothing is being logged in the moodle logs, the event log on the moodle server or on the domain controller it is pointing to.
As far as we know nothing has changed on the servers or the moodle today until we started troubleshooting the issue.
We are running v1.9.3
Oh, and i've ran softerra ldap browser from the moodle server which connects with the LDAP username and password no problem and shows me the tree.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated as I'm getting a lot of grief with approx 4000 students and staff wanting to get on!

LDAP & Moodle
Hello,
I am having quite a few problems implementing LDAP to authenticate our Moodle users. We also have a cc3 network on windows 2003. I tried using Microsoft ADAM to create a new instance of LDAP and sync with Active Directory. This failed to synchronize.
What are you using for LDAP?
Kind Regards,
Alex
