Do any moodle users here use the My-Moodle option in their school?
If so what are the benefits other than listing enrolled courses and adding a few blocks?
Is it worth doing, if so what problems have you had to overcome?

We don't. Mainly because the feature was added a long time after Moodle was introduced into the school teaching. Thus we didn't want add further confusion. I suspect we may end up using it. Perhaps when we start doing proper mahara integration with moodle for ePortfolios.

We have it enabled but dont really use it at the moment.
planning on modifying the page a bit so it can give students a better idea on their progress in courses.
Are you using a mod/hack for that or rewriting it yourselves?
theres some nice mods/blocks alrady but some will need a extra bit of modding.
going to have a bit of writing new and use exsisting mods if im honest
for example there is a nice mod/hack that allows you to hide/show courses.
Also Students here also gave some feedback on the mypage, something they wanted was a block that told them how many unread email they had in their inbox. which would also be nice to have site wide i guess.

We tried it but it was unpopular with pupils and staff and so we dropped it.
I have to admit to being a script idiot when it comes to Php (and anything else for that matter!) but I'm happy to bash an existing mod (if that makes sense?)
I'm in the middle of playing with a test setup so links to any useful mods used would be appreciated. We use 1.9 so some of the older ones may not work anyway. If it's from moodle.org just tell me the name, I'll find it
I like the idea of an email box - maybe add a graphic to show how much allocated space they have left too?
Did they say why they didn't like it?

We have regularly changing stuff on our front page and they didn't like being redirected out of it and having to focus only on their courses - to some this is a major advantate I accept but for ours it took away some of the fun of Moodle

our My page is optional and not forced on students with a clear link on the frontpage.
