SharePoint Database size
Just wondering how big the sql database of your sharePoint deployments are.
We started of with a 10gb LUN on our SAN for this
2 weeks ago doubled it to 20gb now it only 20mb free again. Unfortunately when we did the SAN setup we did not have intention of using any additional SQL space than SIMS,AV and print management.(how wrong can you be).
Now big problem is no more space available on that LUN so thinking about starting again and allowing a lot more space. Thinking of allowing 200gb on a new one.

Mine's currently about 18GB and had initially allowed for about 140GB disk capacity, assuming another 140GB for the database to be dumped to disk on a daily basis, which is then backed up to tape overnight.

200GB is a good size - you wont fill that up very quickly if your only going to run SharePoint.
Keep an eye on your log database size and make sure it gets reduced in size after a full backup.
Make sure you have a read up on best practise for SQL Server and SharePoint as this will give you some good tips on performance - for example... Tell you database to increase at 100MB instead of 10MB as this will help upload file performance.

Have you checked the SQL logs they will need shrinking.
Another issue is video.

shrinking your database should be part of your full back up of you sql server databases.
