Hi
I have configured moodle to use LDAP authentication, works fine for the OU I specified for course creators but not standard users. it says "Invalid login, please try again".
I followed these instructions: LDAP authentication - MoodleDocs
Im not sure why to be honest, please can someone help?
Thanks
Can you post your settings?

Yep no problem, i thought it might have been a permissions.
Thanks
Z

Are all your users in the 'school users' OU or below it?
You should set your 'User Attribute' to 'sAMAccountName' unless your cn entries match?

No problems. Do you need help with any of the other bits (the group or field mapping for example?)

Yes field mapping would be good, not sure what you mean abouts groups though. I'm not sure how to do the field mapping.
Im not a moodle expert so you help is appreciated.
Thanks

It basically means mapping attributes that are already in your ldap to the moodle - for example, to display the users lastname in moodle you map the 'sn' attribute in the ldap. to display to email address you map the 'mail' attribute. you can add others such as address etc if needed. We map a custom 'employeeID' to a field in moodle - this is referenced against SIMS so that SIMS courses get imported![]()

Thanks mate

Download LDAP browser from Softterra, (bottom of the page, free program) Softerra LDAP Administrator & Browser: Directory Management Tool Download
You can then look at all of a users properties in a proper view that's compatible with LDAP and it tells you all the field names as well. Also really useful for specifying the correct OU in the LDAP language, as you can copy it straight out of the program. Very useful tool when you're doing things with LDAP.
