Well I think the idea is that if it's a production environment you should know enough to install (and secure) apache, php, mysql yourself. Then just follow the generic moodle install here: Complete install packages - MoodleDocs

    For further reading see:

I totally agree... However, as I'm not used to setting up a Windows Server as Web Server. I would normally use Linux for this, as Windows isn't the most secure OS on the market.

I was looking for some help and support on how to setup and secure the windows server.... Hence the reason why I asked for a "How To" Guide...

    Thanks for your constructive criticism

A lot of the same ideas apply especially for a web server. It is important to create a new group and user for apache to run under and another for mysql the same way you do in linux.

Apache, php, etc are virtually identical in terms of security on linux and windows. Some articles on windows security:

15 steps to hardening Windows Server 2003

    http://www.uchsc.edu/is/security/Win...list%20v21.pdf (pdf)
Server Hardening Checklists - Windows 2003 Server Hardening Checklist

Sorry it's not a how-to guide but some of those should at least put you in the right direction.

    Cheers

You can get preconfigured PHP packages which have been configured so that the most common extensions are installed.

This could save you some time.
