I am picking up on the information 'apearce' provided and I'll gladly do you a 'live meeting' demo of SharePointLMS if you wish and provide you with further information.

If anyone else would like to see SharePointLMS in action just drop me a line, I'll gladly organise a webinar for people to attend.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the message.
I would love to see a "demo" of SharePoint, if it could be arranged, that would be great. We are always open to new ideas.
    Regards,
    Gary

    Smile SLK

    Hi,

Does anyone use SLK (with the new refresh) at their school, college or Uni?
Do you have any problems and are you using SP 2007?

If yes, we would like to visit an educational establishment using this software.
    We are based in Essex.

    Thanks,
    Gary.

I actually really like the sharepointLMS stuff and hope to have a go soon!

I have been led to believe that some web parts can run on any dot net framework without MOSS 2007 as long as their connectors for data are allowed for in any particular on-line environment. So for example some of the Capita Web Parts for SIMS can be put into UniServity's platform which is not Sharepoint. It all depends on what the web part does, what libraries it depends on and what the application inside the web part requires for connectors. Another example may be the MicroLibrarian web parts that use Silverlight I think. Could be that they can run in a dot net framework rather than needing Sharepoint.

Sharepoint MOSS 2007 costs quite a lot to licence and support. Sharepoint Services are a "free" option if you have MS Server. Shame we haven't got a single standard for p[ortal technology so that all these providers web parts/portlets/blocks/properties etc. could work in each other front end. We've got so many layers of technology these days, absolute nightmare... but then we have choice... sort of....

    Hi Guys,

I am sorry about having 'dissapeared' from the forum after inviting you for a demo on SharePointLMS!

It appears my settings did not alert me of any replies to this topic! (Must check Spam Filter!)

If you want to drop me a line with your contact details I shall setup a Live Meeting for you to see it all! Email me at info @ elearningforce.co.uk

    Thanks

    Paul
