Is he setting the quiz up like this?
The ICT co-ord has just asked me to ask you lovely people if anyone knows why, when trying to create a quiz, he cannot see the list of questions to add?
This is moodle 2.2 I believe
Or is he just going about it the wrong way?
I know less than nothing about moodle and I try to keep it that way so I could do with the help

Has he clicked on the "edit quiz" link under quiz admin?
Yours might be in a different place to ours. When he's done this, he might need to click on "show" to display the question bank.

I have 2.3 ...so it might be slightly different..but as mentioned in a couple other responses... look to your right when you are in edit quiz mode. (this is automatic when you create a new quiz and click save and display). Anyway, here is a screen capture for you.
Couple expected quirks: Question category that is present has to have questions present (that may be why you dont see anything). Include show hidden questions, that makes the list longer. People dont look to the right and read the bar (blue in my case)...This question list can be hidden, so make sure it is showing the questions and not hiding them. example.jpg
I finally got hold of him and he showed me the issue. It is when he is editing a quiz and goes to "choose a question type to add" and an iframe popup (or whatever) used to appear with the lists etc.But it doesn't now. Not in any browser, nor on any computer either at school or home, nor on the server Any ideas?
I have checked that iframe, embedded, etc are all allowed but that didnt make any difference

We use IE but I will have a look . It must be a setting on the server though, surely, otherwise it would work on people's home computers etc but it doesn't?
I'm currently at my other school and it doesnt work here either

I can tell you from personal experience that IE is a horrible browser to use (especially for students). I would make that the first bullet on the list...
If I recall, firefox is the browser of choice. (but having said that, i have noticed some challenges with MOODLE 2.3+ with firefox too). Chrome is my browser of choice...have not seen many problems with it.
If they are...maybe make sure you have the most recent version of IE.
I do say, IE is a pain for MOODLE users (especially students). I would reconsider using it as the browser of choice in the long run.
We use IE because our email system works best with it - in fact in Chrome we cannot see attachments.
However, this issue appears in every browser, including firefox and safari
mrwITch had a look last night and tells me that the code is drawing the box but it is of zero height? Which might imply that it can't access the info on the server which is all there?
This just gets worse and worse...
Have you also asked on the forums of Moodle.org?

I thought you mentioned that this is not happening on every computer, correct?
Have you compared the simple things, browser versions etc?
Our company dictates the use of IE because of some of the programs our company uses, but we have other browsers on our computers so we use whatever works best with our specific work load. So, just for testing purposes (if you have not already)..if there are other browsers on that computer (or it may be worth loading one). I say try another browser on that computer.
The other thing, as silly as it sounds... let someone else log onto the computer (their log on) and see if the same thing happens on the same computer but under a different user. Dont' laugh, we have resolved problems this way at work before.
I also recall you mentioning this same person does not have this problem on other computers, just this computer...right??
Also, can you do this... can you use something like screenr or screencastomatic...and record what happens starting with a page prior to the quiz edit page.. record the whole screen. So, we can see what is happening...?
Sorry one final thing... Make sure he has the correct privileges in MOODLE (if it works on other computers he does)..but he does have to have privileges (most call it shared question creator) to see questions (instructor should work too, but may be limited in number of questions he or she sees).
