Should be something like this:
http://servername/moodle
Nope still won't work![]()
any other ideas??
have I got to faff about with the server for it to accept incoming requests or something like that?
firefox_2006
soooooooo close now

You need to change the Apache httpd.conf (WAMP icon > Config files > httpd.conf) file around line 204 to something like this:
Look up the Apache documentation if you want to restrict this to a subnet or such.Code:Order Allow,Deny Allow from all
![]()
still not working
the name of the server that moodle is installed on is moodleserver
so i take it all i need to do is open IE and type in
moodleserver/moodle
is this correct?

Yep, that should work.
What error message(s) are other netwprk machines getting when they try to browse to http://moodleserver/moodle? Can other machines ping 'moddleserver' and get a reply? If not it could be that the moodleserver is not in the DNS. It's also worth checking the Apache access/error logs.

Try using the server IP number in place of the server name, as this will bypass DNS, and show if it's a problem with the webserver or DNS.
Mike.
Hi
I can ping the server and remote desktop to it as well, but I just can't get access to the bloody moodle on any other computer, what am I doing wrong?
Is there a setting somewhere I have not checked?
firefox_2006
So replacing http:// servername / moodle with http:// IP ADDRESS /moodle doesn't work?
@Plock: No it does not.........I am using WAMP and all services are running, server is showing as "online", why cannot I access it from any other machines?
firefox_2006
make sure you've run the apache and mysql batch files, then type in the server name into IE and you should be ok
@strawberry:
Where do I find these batch files? sorry if I sound totally useless but I have never set this up before, did not know it would be such a ball ache!

From the other machines: Can you access the main WAMP page, eg by browsing to http://servername/ or http://ip.address.of.server?
@webman
No I can't, I have just tried creating a hello.html file in the www root folder of the wamp folder, gone to another machine, opened up a web browser typed in the ip address/moodle and still cant access nothing.

What exactly is coming up then when you try to access it?
What is the IP configuration of the network/moodle server/clients?
