Moodle - user profile (e-mail issue) ldap user authentication wanted only

    Can anyone help.

Just installed moodle and managed to link through Ldap to my active directory server.
Log on with a test active directory student user account in moodle and it takes me to the user profile screen to enter a e-mail address and a few other details

Everytime I log out and back in it just takes me to the user profile screen, I have created permissions for the user account to access courses but if I click on any one of these it takes me back to the user profile screen. I have not configured an e-mail server on moodle and I just want it to basically allow the students and teachesr to log in to the system and access the rooms without anything having to be registered.

I have tried a few settings but cannot seem to find a way around this?

Has anyone got a solution of how I can either disable the e-mail * from having to be entered or disable the e-mail function all together?

    in available authentication plugins:
    manual accounts
    no login
    LDAP server

I have disabled E-mail based self registration

    Any advice is greatly appreciated
    Gareth

Email is a required field and I think (although I am not familiar with LDAP) that Moodle is trying to tell you the email needs to be filled in. Even if it is a fake email.

As @secretlife says email is a required field so needs to be mapped to the mail field in AD.

This will import the users email address from AD as long as it has been entered there, if not it will still prompt for one.

If the email address isn't store in AD then you can selected unlocked if empty for the email field and the users is able to enter one.

Country is a required field as well and if it hasn't been set it will prompt for one.
