    Moodle 2

Does anyone know how I would go about creating a course type of Bi-weekly in addition to weekly, social and topic?

I don't know of a bi-weekly course format but you could just create a topics format course and rename the topics to the weeks or bi-weekly format dates that you want?
EDIT Apologies - just re-read your post and realised you might actually have been meaning how you code the course format rather than a workaround - sorry

yes I was hoping to create a new course format that did this automatically my old 1.9 moodle site had lots of bespoke code but finding someone to do this now is proving more difficult.

Bi-Weekly, do you mean twice a week or fortnightly?

If you are wanting a new course format to be the same as weekly but have it increment the dates fortnightly would be straight forward to code.
