Im in USA for a couple of weeks and im trying to get a SIM to put into my Unlocked nokia e71 so I can use the internet, but both AT+T, Verizon and T-Mobile say they dont offer such a thing and all prepay sims are voice and text only.. Is this correct? What kind of backward country is this?? I hope it isnt the case.. Anyone advise? Im in NYC just now if it makes a difference.. cheers!

3rd July 2010, 02:06 AM #2 We are still here in Denver (fly back tomorrow), and no, you can't. You can buy a pay as you go handset, but not with data unless you get a subscription. What we have found however is that there are LOTS of free wi-fi hotspots all over, and your current package should roam for voice. DO NOT ROAM with data! It will end in expensive tears.

Yeah, I live in the US and I don't think they have prepay 3g internet either but I could be mistaken, I know virgin how's prepaid internet usb modem but I'm not sure if it's 3g. For whatever reason, prepay services are not that popular in the US, postpaid is much more popular, or postpaid with no contracts, go figure
