Hello all
I have recently implemented my frist thin client enviroment, currently have about 40 terminals on one server. This is working well. However i am goining to be expanding the amout of terminals that i have on my network and want to implement more servers which ideally would be load balanced.
I am running a terminal server only enviroment and would like a hardware based soloution, can anyone suggest anything?
I would prefer not to use citrix if i can.
Would DNS round robin be sufficent?

For 'simple' load balancing you could use round robin DNS entries. Obviosly would not take into account the load of each machine etc though :) .
However if you require something more configurable how about a Linux load balancer?
Simple, using 'balance':

I am looking for an aplication load balance. I Think round robin is just a network load balance, isn't it?
It basically keeps going round the hosts as long as they are available.

AFIK its the best your going to get without Citrix or Linux
2X do a Terminal Server load balancing program. That any use to you?
We have a Terminal Server for each of our suites of thin clients. Being as our labsa are all in constant use, this was felt to be the best method available 6 months ago at their inception...
not wanting to push product on here but norphy is right , the 2x product is excellent and I beleive is free on trial, how ever i do think it works as a round robin solution
