ThinStation Problem - Getting Global Configuration

    Hi,

I am setting up ThinStation for the first time in a VMware environment.

I am loosely following these instructions. - http://thinstation.sourceforge.net/d...To-NetBoot.txt

I am using Windows DHCP on Server 2008 R2 and using PXE boot.

I am getting the attached. It seems to be wanting to get some configuration from 172.16.117.254

What am i doing wrong please?

    Thanks :-)

    What is 172.16.117.254?

Is it running TFTPd? (with firewall exclusion)

I have no idea where that has actually come from. The IP range is a class A range. The firewalls are all off.

I can see activity in the TFTP server.

My terminal server IP is 10.10.10.1

    Thanks

It's getting the IP from somewhere, what is your DHCP configuration looking like?

Wouldn't worry about your Terminal Server at this point, it's not got as far as that yet.

    Thanks for your help.

I cant see anything in DHCP that would cause this.

I have attached my thinstation.conf.network file as well as some screenshots.

    Thanks again

EDIT: I left it for a while now its trying to get the config from another location

I hope this helps, it's a document our previous supplier gave me to get Thinstation setup on our Samsung SM711NTs.

Ha fixed it. It was VMware Fusion causing the issue. This sorted it

Disabling VMWare Fusion's inbuilt DHCP Server

Thanks Kim and thanks for the guide joe

Glad it's working now! With our aging equipment and non existent budget I think I'll be using it more and more!

    Hi,
In the intruction, you use Windows 2K8 as DHCP but in our environment I am using Cisco device to assign IP to our client. Any idea for my case.
    Thanks

I would open another thread asking how you would set these settings in DHCP.
