    They're a lot easier to carry than a rackmount. Think of a sturdy desktop tower case and they'd be on par with that.

    Having said that, I've seen some ludicrously cheap rackmount servers going on ebay. The ML110s (and similar) are quite desirable as home lab machines due to their size so they keep their price quite well and don't tend to go cheap on ebay. Value wise you would get more bang out of a secondhand rackmount, but a regular tower case is easier to lug around.
