Thanks - I also got it working - I previously didn't use a clean virtual machine but managed to get set one up and then used Cameyo 1.55 to get a working package on Thursday. (And I changed the wiki to reflect it )
(I then found I hadn't changed the default file locations for the program so I'll have to redo it but thats just a minor problem
Thanks for your efforts
PS I'd suggest removing the virtual.exe from a publicly known place ASAP before the copyright holders object

I'm still having a few problems when I launch one of the progs from the NWP2 launcher program, it sits there saying loading but doesn't run, returns to the launcher but has the program launched still running obscuring the window.
Can you send me a copy of 1.6 beta to see if that cures it please.

I have hit one snag with Cameyo and was wondering if anyone has found a workaround.
I have this EXE that won't package up as an MSI but works brilliantly under Cameyo. One problem though, when you come to saving a file it'll save in the directory where the virtual exe lives. However, it shows up as 'My Documents' within the program so when you come to opening the file, you're lead to believe it's under My DOcuments folder when in reality it lives in Virtual EXE Folder\%Personal%
Has anyone come across something like this?
Since all users move about these files they're saving isn't being saved in their home directories.

I repackaged NWP2 but told it to include the desktop shorcuts icons for each invidual program. If I launch the individual progams like this they seems to work fine - the launcher still does funny things and I'd rather just have 1 icon on the desktop if possible
What program is it and I'll (or you can add it to the wiki.

I just went to use Cameyo and it comes up with "Product activation failed" when I try to capture an install

Simon, i still cannot PM / reply to you. I hope you read this message, regarding your question (if not, can anyone PM SimpleSi?)
If you are using Cameyo 1.55, the activation failure message is just informative (does not prevent you from doing anything). Are you seeing something different?
Btw, the message has been completely removed in 1.6: Cameyo | Free Application Virtualization | Download

Yep - gives the error msg and exits
Are you seeing something different?
I'll try out the new 1.6

Had my eye on this for some time, and finally got time to start playing with it.
So far tested under vista and XP I've got the following working:
I'm in the process of building packages for, and will update on success/failure accordingly:
And hope to build packages for the following, but have not yet started the process:
-Clicker 5/Clicker Paint
Installing .net framework is a pain, and it doesn't work with version 4, you have to have v3.5 installed to edit the packages on the build machine.
I haven't played with the package editor or registry key editor yet, I suspect I'll need to for testbase and Office though to make them work proplerly.

Has anyone tried packaging up the Edexcel/Promissor Administrator software yet?

Nope but I reckon it would be a good candidate for it.

Has anyone tried packaging the google apps with their messy updaters and persistant services using this software. Could be a good way to get Google Earth without turning over 5% of the CPU to google for the rest of time.

i'm testing cameyo with some small apps (vlc, winrar, adobe reader ...), it works fine but i've a question........
how could you deploy virtualized applications and configure file associations / desktop icons? is it possible?

1. You could add a one-line script with an assoc command to bind the extension to the application.

2. You could include a registry entry to associate the file. Look in CLASSES_ROOT to see how this works.

Just noticed this post. Your virtual package can be launched with -Integrate switch; that will integrate associated file extensions.
