We're about to implement Sun Ray thin clients which will deliver Windows TS desktops as well as SSGD.
Does anyone know if we will be able to 'remotely support' TS sessions like we do with NetSupport on our fat clients? I'm thinking about scenarios such as where the service desk gets a call asking a 'How to?'
Turns out that NetSupport works on thin client, which is great news.
It does but we used Ranger Remote a rebadged version and it was a PITA, it tends to use loads of resources and can kill your TS boxes. It also doesn't let you see the clientname (I think you can if you fix IP's) so you can't tell what room users are in, this makes it difficult for teachers to pick up 'their' students and they often end up viewing or worse demoing the wrong room.
We moved to ABTutor which is streets ahead on TS/Thin Clients.
If you're only wanting single session shadowing for support issues then use the built in terminal server shadowing features it works very well for this purpose.
