Default VM Workstation 7 compatibility with 6 VM's

    Hi

I wanted to trial out the new version of VM workstation 7. I currnetly have VM's configured on version 6.5 and was hoping I could have both versions on my laptop but it wont let me.

Has anyone tried version 7 and if you have existing VM's, will they work on the latest version?

    Thanks

Yes I have tried version 7 and yes - your version 6 VMs should be fine - just remember 2 things:

    1) Back them up BEFORE you start - just incase it doesn't go smoothly.
    2) Remember to upgrade the VM hardware before you power on the VMs... that way the tools can auto-install and you can be ready to go after 1 reboot.

    HTH,

    Az
