Another question. I have an SGE Airtight networks virtual appliance in the form of various .vmdk / .nvram / .vmsn / .vmem files. How do I go about getting this up and running as a virtual machine. When creating a virtual machine you obv get the option to select which OS it is running. I believe this appliance runs on redhat. However, I do not know which version and when you power on the VM its obviously going to look for something to boot from. Not too sure how I go about it. Anyone done something along the same lines before?

Bluebear's Kodiak
For a management tool that is FREE, you might check out BlueBear > Kodiak. It's still in development I think.
I haven't used but saw it on an episode of Hak5. Not sure how it matches features with vSphere, but maybe worth a shot when released.
